Herbs are full of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and can add aromatic flavors to many dishes. All herbs are as nutritious as leafy green vegetables. However, herbs are more concentrated with power packed phytochemicals.
Sage Tea Sore Throat Remedy
Take 5-6 (fresh or dried) sage leaves and steep for 3-4 minutes in 2 cups of hot water. Sweeten with honey, if desired. Gargle 2-3 times a day to relieve a sore throat.
Baked Fennel with Parmesan
Combine 4 tablespoons olive oil, 4 cloves of finely chopped garlic, 4 fennel bulbs cut horizontally into 1 inch thick slices, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1 tablespoon of freshly ground black pepper. Mix all ingredients together and sprinkle with 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese. Cover and bake for 45 minutes at 375 degrees. Serve warm.
